Allison Beardsley joined the athletic department staff as head coach of the field hockey program in the spring 2015.
In her first season at the helm of the program, Beardsley posted a 2-14 overall record, while having one earn All-Conference honors from the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC), and four from the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC).
In just one season, Beardsley has restructured the program, focusing on academic success, while being strong leaders in the community. Her efforts outside of the lines will bring Morrisville State's largest recruiting class to the field in 2016.
Beardsley guided the Mustangs to a 4-13 record in 2016, as one earned SUNYAC All-Conference accolades and four from the NEAC appearing on the all-conference team, while claiming stake with both the NEAC Offensive Player and Rookie of the Year individual accolades.
Come season end, Beardsley had four placed on the SUNYAC Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll, four on the NEAC Scholar-Athlete honor roll, and had two earn NFHCA National Academic Squad honors. One also went on to receive SUNY Chancellor Scholar-Athlete accolades.
Beardsley came to Morrisville State from the University of Rochester, where she has served as assistant coach for the Yellowjackets program since March 2013.
While at Rochester, Beardsley was responsible for various facets of the program, including developing game and practice plans, coordinating team travel, managing and organizing recruiting efforts and social media responsibilities.
During her time with the Yellowjackets, the program posted a 15-5 overall record, appearing in the Liberty League Championship Tournament after registering a 5-1 conference stint in 2014. That same season, seven earned All-Liberty League honors, including one that collected Defensive Player of the Year accolades. Six also took home National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Region accolades, two were named NHFCA All-Americans and three earned ECAC Mid-Atlantic All-Star honors. Recently, two were named NFHCA Scholars of Distinction.
Following the conclusion of the 2014 season, the University of Rochester was acknowledged as the Liberty League “Coaching Staff of the Year”.
Beardsley has been active with USA Field Hockey, serving as the head coach of the Rochester Region Futures Under-16 program since March 2013. She has served as the Olympic Youth Camp Head Coach and Site Representative for the OYC program in the Rochester area, working with Olympians Jackie Kintzer and Julia Reinprecht.
She also has remained active in the Finger Lakes Region as the U-16 travel team head coach, also serving as a camp/clinic administrator with youth developing U12 programs.
Prior to her time at the University of Rochester, Beardsley spent a season with the Stevenson University field hockey program as a graduate assistant.
Beardsley is a 2012 graduate of the University of Rochester with a Bachelor of Science degree in health policy, where she played four seasons for the Yellowjackets field hockey program.
In four seasons she appeared in 75 games and totaled 112 points on 40 goals and 32 assists. Beardsley currently holds the school record for career assists as well as the single season record for assists with 17 in her senior season. She ranks third in school history in points and goals.
During her senior season, Beardsley earned NFHCA All-American Second Team accolades, also earning NFHCA All-North Atlantic Region First Team honors. She is also a two-time All-Liberty League selection. Off the field, Beardsley was a four-year member of the NFHCA Academic All-Star team and a three-time Liberty League Academic Team selection, and served two years as a representative on the Varsity Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Beardsley is currently pursuing her Master of Science degree in management from SUNY Cortland. She continues to be active in several camps and clinics throughout New York.
